If the individual refuses to sign then just note this on the letter and make sure you have a witness in the layoff meeting. If you decide to offer an exit interview, you should include the time, date and meeting place in the layoff letter. A laid off worker is generally not angry. In these cases, the company gets rid of all jobs associated with these areas. But if employees have signed a contract with an employer, you must consider certain legal restrictions when dimissing employees. But there's a danger for you and the business when you write a letter of recommendation. At what point will you layoff the worker? If you feel you cannot approach a worker calmly, you must leave it in the hands of an Human resources manager. If you suspect the jobholder might do something mischievous or damaging to company property, you might have a security guard accompany them when they clean out their desk and to escort them from business property. If the worker has received good past job appraisals, you must take more time with the termination. It's similar to the verbal notification, except the tone is disappointment and more threatening.
