If your layoff form is long, management will probably place it in a pile to read later, or maybe never. If theft occurs again, you should terminate the worker right away. First, you should consider is if sacking the pregnant employee has anything to do with the pregnancy. Whenever you notice the first signs of a looming problem make sure you solve it right away. If reprimands do not get through, you may have to fire the insubordinate worker. If the business involves working with other people, like in nursing, you also have the right and duty to demand that your workers wear clean clothing and that they wash their hands usually. But there's a danger for you and your small business when you write a notice of recommendation. As a rule of thumb, if the termination or separating was for some reason other than willful misbehavior, the jobholder will be eligible. But if you think of it as a standard firm procedure to follow, you can get through it more easily. Lastly, there are a few specific types of workers who are ineligible. Worker misbehavior is every owner's and boss's worst nightmare. If the jobholder is in jail for an extended time, it is going to be a problem for the company. If the layoff is because of a lay off, restructuring or downsizing, you can express some sensitivity in the letters of layoff. Don't ever blame an employee who's no longer with the business for the company's troubles. It provides a clear and direct message about the grounds for layoff.
